IDGateway Ltd is an experienced and trusted leader in the development of security focused SaaS products, developing and maintaining three major applications to support national and international aviation/security focused customers.
The Junior Business Analyst plays a key role in enabling smooth and structured delivery of product changes and enhancements across the business. Working closely with cross-functional teams (including product, support, development, and testing), the Junior BA ensures that stakeholder needs are clearly understood, scoped, and translated into actionable requirements.
This role is ideal for someone in the early stages of their business analysis career who is ready to take ownership of day-to-day delivery activities, with a strong focus on stakeholder communication, requirement gathering, and change control. The successful candidate will contribute to the continuous improvement of IDGateway’s products and services while gaining exposure to a broad range of business and technical domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Leads the analysis and definition of platform changes, from initial business problem to approved user stories and delivery-ready specs.
- Engages stakeholders proactively to understand needs, gather requirements, and set delivery expectations.
- Translates business requirements into structured documentation, including user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and traceability matrices as needed.
- Takes ownership of change requests and enhancement projects, ensuring all work is properly scoped, prioritised, signed off, and delivered according to plan.
- Maintains active communication with stakeholders on timelines, risks, and changes, ensuring alignment and traceable approvals.
- Partners with developers and test analysts during development and UAT, ensuring the original need is delivered accurately and usefully.
- Manages and maintains product and process documentation to support delivery, onboarding, compliance, and audit purposes.
- Assesses impacts of changes across workflows, systems, and user groups to inform better design and release decisions.
- Contributes to continuous improvement of BA practices, documentation standards, and delivery processes.
Skill Level
Must:
- 2+ years of experience in a Business Analyst or similar role.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills — able to challenge, clarify, and align expectations with confidence.
- Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise, and complete user stories, requirements, and supporting documentation.
- Comfortable managing change request lifecycles, from initial scoping through to stakeholder sign-off and post-release review.
- Organised and delivery-focused — able to manage multiple workstreams, prioritise effectively, and keep stakeholders updated.
- Confident with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Excel/Sheets, and process visualisation tools (e.g., Visio, Draw.io).
- Genuine interest in AI and automation technologies (as these are growing areas within the business).
- Comfortable, confident and articulate when communicating with clients, able to represent the company professionally in meetings and discussions.
Candidate Profile
- Structured and analytical thinker who can manage complexity and distil business needs into actionable outcomes.
- Highly organised and delivery-focused, with a proven ability to manage multiple initiatives while ensuring stakeholder alignment.
- Excellent communication skills — able to confidently engage with both technical and non-technical audiences, tailoring messaging appropriately.
- 2+ years’ experience in a business analysis, digital delivery, or product-focused role within a SaaS or software environment.
- Comfortable leading the end-to-end lifecycle of change requests or feature enhancements, from discovery through to delivery and validation.
- Confident user of key tools such as Jira, Confluence, process modelling tools, and spreadsheets for tracking and documentation.
- Applies an analytical mindset to identify inefficiencies and define improvement strategies, not just document change.
- Demonstrates ability to balance technical feasibility, user experience, and business priorities.
- Acts in support of company values, applying company policies and practises as required.
- May hold a BA certification (e.g. BCS Foundation in Business Analysis) or be working towards one.
