Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley is hiring a BIM Technician in Glasgow to deliver CAD/BIM outputs across multiple projects. You will collaborate within a design and build team, developing BIM standards, resolving clashes, and supporting asset data capture throughout the project lifecycle.

The role emphasises growth through our Early Careers Development Programme, with emphasis on developing technical and management skills and expanding your professional network in the water, energy and environment sectors.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering/Computer Science with CAD/BIM or related field.
• Knowledge of CAD & Modelling software and management tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civils 3D, Plant 3D, ACC, BIM360.
• Understanding of ISO 19650 information management principles.
• Able to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team with strong communication skills.
• Proactive with adaptability to changing processes and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver CAD/BIM design data and perform quality control; contribute to CAD/BIM standards.
• Use 3D modelling to support design collaboration, clash resolution, asset data capture, and cost capture.
• Support the development of the common data environment (Autodesk BIM 360) and manage BIM data through the project lifecycle.
• Create and develop a standardised BIM element library for model reuse and low‑carbon solutions.
• Ensure cyber security for CAD/BIM data and access.
• Validate CAD/BIM models from suppliers and integrate into our models.
• Collaborate with designers to balance time, cost and quality; enable use of Mott MacDonald’s design services.
• Manage safety, wellbeing, environment and sustainability within BIM/CAD outputs.
• Mentor less experienced BIM technicians and provide technical guidance.
