Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley is seeking a BIM Technician to join its design and build team in Bristol. You’ll deliver CAD/BIM data, support model development, and help maintain BIM standards across multiple projects.

You’ll work with engineers and designers to optimise time, cost and quality, manage BIM data lifecycle using Autodesk BIM 360, and mentor junior technicians on occasion, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering/Computer Science with CAD/BIM or related field.
• Knowledge and experience with CAD & Modelling software and management tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civils 3D, Plant 3D, ACC, BIM360, etc
• Understanding of ISO 19650 principles.
• Able to collaborate within a multidiscipline team with strong communication.
• Experience adapting to new processes and technologies.
• Understanding of programme, budget and quality requirements.
• Proactive approach with growth mindset and adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Deliver CAD/BIM design data and perform quality checks while developing CAD/BIM standards.
• Use 3D modelling to support design collaboration, clash resolution, data capture, and cost tracking.
• Support the common data environment platform (Autodesk BIM 360) and manage BIM data through the project lifecycle.
• Create a standardised BIM element library to support model reuse and low‑carbon solutions.
• Handle cyber security aspects of CAD/BIM data and access.
• Validate CAD/BIM models from suppliers and integrate into our models.
• Collaborate with designers to balance time, cost and quality.
• Enable use of Mott MacDonald’s global design services.
• Manage safety, wellbeing, environment and sustainability within BIM/CAD output.
• Supervise less experienced BIM technicians where appropriate and mentor development.
