Job summary

Computacenter in the United Kingdom is seeking an Azure Infrastructure Engineer to design and deploy cloud platforms using Infrastructure-as-Code, focusing on security, governance, and scalable networking across complex environments.

You will manage compute services (VMs, App Services, containers), provide 3rd line support, implement RBAC and Azure Policy, maintain landing zones, monitor with Azure Monitor, and optimize cost and resilience while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Azure core services (compute, storage, networking, security).
• Hands-on Infrastructure-as-Code using Bicep, ARM, or Terraform.
• Solid understanding of Azure networking and cloud architecture principles.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools.
• Automation and scripting using PowerShell and Azure CLI.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Configure networking components such as VNets, NSGs, firewalls, private endpoints, and load balancers.
• Deliver and support compute services including VMs, App Services, and containers.
• Implement security and governance controls, including RBAC, Azure Policy, and Management Groups.
• Build and support landing zones and foundational cloud environments.
• Manage monitoring and observability using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and alerts.
• Support CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions; Automate tasks with PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Functions.
• Maintain and support Azure Kubernetes Service and container platforms.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and provide 3rd-line support and root cause analysis.
• Optimise cloud environments for cost, performance, and resilience.
• Contribute to documentation, standards, and platform maturity.

Salary: £35,500 - 63,500 per year

Requirements

• Strong experience with Azure core services, including compute, storage, networking, and security
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code using Bicep, ARM, or Terraform
• Solid understanding of Azure networking and cloud architecture principles
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud issues
• Experience with automation and scripting using PowerShell and Azure CLI
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Must be eligible to pass Security Clearance
• Desirable: Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and containerisation
• Desirable: Knowledge of Azure governance frameworks and landing zones
• Desirable: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Desirable: Understanding of identity and access management, including Entra ID and managed identities
