Job summary

Clyde & Co in Manchester is seeking a Junior Associate (NQ–2 PQE) to join the Large Loss team focused on Employers’ Liability and Public Liability matters within high‑value personal injury claims.

The role requires a qualified solicitor with EL/PL experience, strong litigation knowledge, and excellent analytical and communication skills. You will support senior lawyers, manage a relevant caseload, and contribute to the team’s knowledge sharing and client relationships.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with personal injury litigation experience.
• Prior Employers’ Liability and/or Public Liability claims experience, ideally in a defendant practice.
• Strong understanding of the litigation process and Civil Procedure Rules.
• Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of EL and PL claims appropriate to your level.
• Support senior lawyers on complex, high-value large loss matters.
• Review and analyse evidence (medical records, witness evidence, expert reports, disclosure).
• Investigate liability, causation and quantum issues.
• Draft correspondence, court documents, instructions to experts and counsel.
• Assist in preparing cases for conferences, hearings, settlement meetings and trial.
