Journey Education Group is seeking a Secondary Teacher to join our inclusive provision in Doncaster. The role covers Key Stage 3 and 4 with a focus on SEN support and inclusive teaching practices.

The ideal candidate holds Qualified Teacher Status, can adapt the national curriculum for diverse needs, and works collaboratively with support staff, parents, and external agencies. Start date January 2027 or as soon as possible.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (essential).
  • Experience with children or young people in educational/support roles is advantageous.
  • Understanding of different learning styles and strategies to support diverse needs.
  • Ability to manage behaviour effectively and de-escalate challenging situations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
  • Proficiency in IT tools/technology used in education.
  • Empathy, patience, and resilience for students with challenges.
  • Organised, flexible, and able to adapt to evolving student needs.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality (enhanced DBS required).

Job description

Journey Education Group Secondary Teacher - Full time

Our provision supports students with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional and mental health difficulties. The ideal candidate will be confident in delivering lessons across Key Stage 3 and 4 in one or more subject areas, with a strong grasp of curriculum requirements and a flexible approach to planning and delivery.

You will be responsible for creating engaging, accessible lessons that meet the individual needs of learners, as well as planning and delivering targeted interventions to support progress. A solid understanding of the national curriculum and how to adapt it for SEN learners is essential. You will also be expected to provide clear, purposeful feedback, track and monitor progress, and work collaboratively with support staff to ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed.

Excellent communication, flexibility and a calm, consistent demeanour are essential, as is a willingness to liaise with parents, professionals and external agencies. Experience working with SEN students is desirable but not essential for the right candidate with a genuine passion for inclusive education.

  • You will be required to hold an enhanced DBS
