Job summary

Springer Nature is seeking a Publishing Assistant in London (hybrid) to support a team handling over 50 English-language journals across genetics and biotechnology. The role focuses on non-strategic administrative tasks, system updates, and coordinating with editors, production, and editorial offices.

Qualifications

• Strong written and oral communication in English.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple tasks.
• Proficiency with MS 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Experience handling non-strategic administrative tasks in publishing or academia (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Handle non-strategic matters to maintain scholarly journals: prepare new agreements, update internal systems, request payments, and maintain journal records.
• Prepare materials for team reports, conferences, and board meetings, including assistance with PowerPoint presentations.
• Request annual journal reports and monitor schedule.
• Handle general enquiries from Springer Nature and external partners (editors and authors).
• Develop strong cross-departmental relationships to coordinate production, editorial office, marketing, conferences, and deadlines.
• Respond to routine enquiries from customer services.
• Work with internal databases to track projects across journals.
