Responsibilities

• Create highly detailed technical drawings of bespoke joinery items for commercial and residential projects.
• Translate design concepts from architects/interiors into production-ready drawings.
• Produce manufacturing information including CNC files and cutting lists for the in-house team.
• Create bills of materials and manage material ordering with suppliers.
• Liaise with suppliers to source materials to specification, on time and within budget.
• Work with Joinery Production Manager and Estimator throughout project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with interior designers and architects to capture design intent for production.
• Operate CNC machinery or provide CNC-ready files for production team.
• Maintain drawing registers and ensure documentation is up to date.
• Support continuous improvement in drawing standards and production efficiency.

The Role

Bluecrow Joinery is a specialist joinery business producing high-end bespoke pieces for prestigious commercial and residential projects, including restaurants, bars, and luxury properties. Their in-house bench joinery team delivers work of the highest standard, and this role sits at the heart of that process.

We are recruiting a Joinery CAD Technician to translate design concepts from architects and interior designers into precise, production-ready technical drawings and manufacturing information. Working closely with the Joinery Production Manager, Joinery Estimator, and external design teams, you will own the technical drawing process from concept through to shop floor output, ensuring the bench joiners have everything they need to deliver exceptional work.

Main Responsibilities

• Create highly detailed technical drawings of bespoke joinery items for commercial and residential projects, including restaurants, bars, and high-end properties
• Translate design concepts from architects and interior designers into accurate, production-ready drawings
• Produce manufacturing information including CNC files and cutting lists for the in-house bench joinery team
• Create bills of materials and manage material ordering in collaboration with suppliers
• Liaise with suppliers to source materials to specification, on time, and within budget
• Work closely with the Joinery Production Manager and Joinery Estimator throughout the project lifecycle
• Collaborate with interior designers and architects to ensure design intent is accurately captured and achievable in production
• Operate CNC machinery where required, or provide CNC-ready files for the production team
• Maintain drawing registers and ensure all documentation is accurate and up to date

Skills and Experience

• A background in the joinery industry - this is a requirement for the role
• Proven experience producing detailed technical CAD drawings for joinery or a related trade
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, design concepts, and specifications
• Experience producing manufacturing information such as cutting lists and bills of materials
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in technical output
• Able to manage multiple projects and liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Good communication skills - comfortable working with production teams, estimators, architects, and designers

Desirable

• Knowledge of CNC machinery and the ability to produce CNC-ready files
• Experience ordering materials and liaising with joinery suppliers
• Familiarity with high-end bespoke joinery for commercial or residential environments

Salary and Working Hours

Competitive salary dependent on experience: £40k - £50k. Full-time, permanent, Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:30pm.
