Job summary

Gi Group (UK) is seeking a skilled JOINER / Pattern Maker in Leicester for a stable, long-term role. The position involves producing high-quality wooden moulds and patterns for materials like concrete, interpreting drawings, and working to tight tolerances in a specialist workshop environment.

The role requires reading CAD data, precise measuring, and safe operation of woodworking machinery. Regular hours are days, with overtime rates and a two-week Christmas shutdown.

Qualifications

• Proven joinery/workshop experience required.
• Ability to read sketches and CAD data.
• High attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
• Safe operation of woodworking machinery and hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret sketches, drawings and CAD data to determine pattern/mould specifications.
• Build wooden patterns and moulds, allowing for shrinkage/draft where required.
• Measure, mark out and cut materials accurately using layout tools.
• Assemble components with fasteners, glue and dowels to create moulds.
• Use workshop machinery alongside traditional joinery tools.
• Perform quality checks to ensure moulds meet specification.
• Maintain tools and work safely to site standards.
• Liaise with designers, customers and contractors to confirm requirements.
