We are seeking a skilled Joiner to join a maintenance team for a Facilities Management company that specialises in hospital and large commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have experience with fire doors and be able to pass a DBS check.

Your new role

  1. Install, repair, and maintain wooden structures, including doors, window frames, staircases, and furniture.
  2. Primarily perform fire door inspections, maintenance, and installation work.
  3. Ensure compliance with safety regulations when fitting, inspecting, and maintaining fire doors.
  4. Conduct planned preventative maintenance on hospital fabric, including external doors, access doors, windows, flooring, suspended ceilings, walls, and fireproofing.
  5. Inspect structures and fixtures to diagnose issues and determine necessary repairs or replacements.
  6. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand project requirements.
  7. Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations, ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards.
  8. Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
  9. Work collaboratively with other team members and supervise apprentices and helpers as needed.

What you'll need to succeed

  1. Proven experience as a joiner, particularly in hospital and large commercial settings.
  2. Proficiency in using hand tools and machines.
  3. Full UK Driving License.
  4. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and plans.
  5. Strong knowledge of carpentry materials and construction methods.
  6. Experience with fire doors is essential.
  7. Ability to pass a DBS check.
  8. High school diploma or equivalent; relevant vocational training or certification is a plus.
