Job description

Job Responsibilities
  1. Undertake routine and non-routine joinery and carpentry works, including repairs, installations, and minor alterations to doors, windows, locks, fixtures, fittings, partitions, and general building fabric.
  2. Operate and maintain woodworking machinery and associated tools, ensuring safe and effective use at all times.
  3. Perform repairs and maintenance on fire doors, fire protection systems, glazing units, suspended ceilings, curtain track systems, and furniture.
  4. Support minor building works and refurbishment projects, including dry lining, wall cladding, tiling, plastering, and the installation of passive fire protection measures.
  5. Respond promptly to emergency situations such as fires, floods, or lift entrapments, taking appropriate action to ensure safety.
  6. Carry out planned preventative maintenance, statutory inspections, and reactive maintenance tasks in line with service schedules.
  7. Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and compliance activities via electronic systems (e.g., PDA/iPad).
  8. Collaborate with other estates disciplines (mechanical, electrical, etc.) to support a multi-skilled team approach.
  9. Provide advice, support, and instruction to apprentices, colleagues, and contractors when required.
