Equals One Ltd in Hull and surrounding areas is seeking an experienced Handyman/Joiner to work on residential repairs as a self-employed contractor. The role includes general repairs, joinery, door and window repairs, and basic painting across social housing and HMOs.

You must have practical joinery skills, own tools, a full UK driving licence, and be reliable and flexible, with the ability to work in occupied properties and follow building regulations. Hours: 20 per week, with overtime.

Qualificações

Handyman / Joiner - Self-Employed

Location: Hull and surrounding areas
Hours: 20 hours per week, plus overtime
Rate: Dependent on experience
Contract: Self-Employed

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Handyman / Joiner to carry out repairs and maintenance to residential properties across Hull and the surrounding area.

This is a varied, hands-on role for someone who is comfortable working independently and can turn their hand to a range of property repairs and maintenance work.

You should also have a good understanding of the building regulations and standards relevant to social housing and Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs).

The role

Your work will include:

• General property repairs and maintenance
• Joinery repairs
• Repairs to doors and windows
• Basic painting and decorating
• Identifying faults and carrying out practical repairs
• Working in occupied residential properties, including social housing and HMOs
• Ensuring work is completed safely, tidily and to a good standard
• Carrying out work in line with relevant building regulations and property standards

The ideal candidate

You will need:

• Previous experience in a handyman, joinery or property maintenance role
• Good practical joinery and general repair skills
• Knowledge of building regulations and standards relating to social housing and HMOs
• A full UK driving licence
• Your own vehicle initially - a company van will be provided in due course
• Your own basic tools
• A reliable and flexible approach to work
• Flexibility to work additional hours/overtime when required
• Good communication skills and a professional manner when working in customers' homes

Previous experience working with Local Authorities, social housing providers or HMO properties would be particularly beneficial.
