Job summary

TipTopJob is seeking an experienced Handyman/Joiner for self-employed work across Hull and surrounding areas. The role covers repairs and maintenance in residential properties, including social housing and HMOs, with overtime and flexible hours.

You will work independently, bring your own tools, and use a company van when provided. The candidate should have practical joinery and repair skills, knowledge of relevant building regulations, and a reliable, communicative approach when visiting

Handyman / Joiner : Self:Employed

Location: Hull and surrounding areas

Hours: 20 hours per week, plus overtime

Rate: Dependent on experience

Contract: Self:Employed

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Handyman / Joiner to carry out repairs and maintenance to residential properties across Hull and the surrounding area.

This is a varied, hands:on role for someone who is comfortable working independently and can turn their hand to a range of property repairs and maintenance work.

You should also have a good understanding of the building regulations and standards relevant to social housing and Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs).

The role

Your Work Will Include

• General property repairs and maintenance
• Joinery repairs
• Repairs to doors and windows
• Basic painting and decorating
• Identifying faults and carrying out practical repairs
• Working in occupied residential properties, including social housing and HMOs
• Ensuring work is completed safely, tidily and to a good standard
• Carrying out work in line with relevant building regulations and property standards

The ideal candidate

You Will Need

• Previous experience in a handyman, joinery or property maintenance role
• Good practical joinery and general repair skills
• Knowledge of building regulations and standards relating to social housing and HMOs
• A full UK driving licence
• Your own vehicle initially : a company van will be provided in due course
• Your own basic tools
• A reliable and flexible approach to work
• Flexibility to work additional hours/overtime when required
• Good communication skills and a professional manner when working in customers homes

Previous experience working with Local Authorities, social housing providers or HMO properties would be particularly beneficial.

Above all, were looking for someone dependable who takes pride in their work and understands the standards required when carrying out repairs and maintenance in residential properties.
