Job summary

Camphill Wakefield, a specialist post-16 college near Newmillerdam, seeks a proactive Job Coach to support young people with SEND in developing work-related skills and pursuing employment. You will run one-to-one and small group coaching, support learners in work placements, and collaborate with staff and employers to arrange appropriate workplace adjustments.

Responsibilities include creating employment plans, tracking progress, maintaining records, and contributing to reviews.

Qualifications

  • Strong job coaching and coaching skills to help individuals achieve employment goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to work with learners, families and employers.
  • Experience with SEND in educational or support settings is preferred.
  • Ability to create person-centred plans, document accurately and manage a varied caseload.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality and inclusive practice, with willingness to training and checks.

Company Description

Camphill Wakefield is a specialist post 16 college near Newmillerdam, supporting young people with special educational needs and disabilities. The job coach team works collaboratively across college to create an inclusive, person-centred supported employment model programme, that respects each individual’s abilities, needs, and aspirations.

Role Description

We are a small but dynamic team who recently were rated Strong during the Ofsted inspection. Your role as a Job Coach will support young people with SEND to develop work-related skills, identify career interests with the career team, and prepare the students for employment or meaningful vocational activities. Responsibilities include delivering one-to-one and small group coaching sessions, supporting learners in work placements, and collaborating with employers and internal staff to ensure appropriate workplace adjustments and support. The role involves creating and implementing individualized employment plans, monitoring progress, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to reviews and reports. The Job Coach will also promote self-advocacy, confidence, and independence in learners while maintaining a safe and inclusive environment. The job coach will be expected to drive either a college car or own car, with business insurance.

  • An essential user car allowance is currently provided.
Qualifications

  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and inclusive practice, with willingness to undertake required training and checks.
  • A clear DBS will be required subject to starting the role.
  • It is desirable for the candidate to hold Level 3 Supported Employment Practitioner Certificate
