Job summary

East Coast College is seeking a Job Coach at the Great Yarmouth campus to support students with learning disabilities in gaining work-related skills through tailored coaching and placement opportunities.

You will build relations with employers and mentors, monitor progress, and help learners move into paid employment at year end. DBS checks and safeguarding awareness are required; term-time hours with a fixed-term, full-time contract.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 English and maths.
• Experience in coaching young people to develop employability.
• DBS check or enhanced disclosure required.

Responsibilities

Job Title: Job Coach

Location: Great Yarmouth & Lowestoft Campus

Hours: 37 Hours

Contract: Fixed Term - Full Time - Term Time Only

Salary: Band H (£28,429.44 - £31,028.40)

To job coach students based within internal and external work placements/rotations. To provide support to students in gaining vital work-related skills and experiences to be able to move into paid employment at the end of the year. To also support the employer/mentors to be able to work effectively with students and to build on relationships that continually help develop existing and new opportunities for students.

Key needs from you and the role;

• Passionate about supporting young people with learning disabilities into employment, helping them develop employability, independence and workplace skills through tailored support and coaching.
• Experienced in building positive relationships with employers and stakeholders, creating work placement, internship and employment opportunities that match students’ skills, interests and aspirations.
• Skilled in student support, mentoring and job coaching, with the ability to motivate learners, monitor progress and provide effective support in both educational and workplace settings.
• Organised, proactive and committed to safeguarding, able to maintain accurate records, contribute to promotional activities, analyse employment opportunities and work collaboratively with colleagues, employers and support agencies.
