About the Role:

As a Creative Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with classroom teachers and SENCOs to provide tailored support to students with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social-emotional challenges. You’ll use imaginative, engaging strategies—like art, drama, music, or play-based learning—to help children develop academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support SEN pupils in 1:1 and small group settings

  • Deliver engaging, sensory-friendly activities to enhance learning

  • Assist with behaviour management using positive reinforcement strategies

  • Adapt materials and activities to suit individual needs

  • Provide emotional support and build trusting relationships with students

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents

We’re Looking For:
  • A creative background (e.g., arts, drama, music, playwork) is highly desirable

  • Experience supporting children with SEN (in school or other settings)

  • A caring, patient, and proactive approach

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • The ability to adapt and respond to a dynamic classroom environment

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply through Protocol Education)

Why Work With Protocol Education?
  • Competitive weekly pay & PAYE – no umbrella fees

  • FREE CPD and training opportunities (e.g., Autism Awareness, Team Teach)

  • Dedicated consultant support throughout your placement

  • Opportunities for long-term, short-term, or permanent roles
