A leading education provider seeks a Creative Teaching Assistant to support children with Special Educational Needs in London. This role involves working closely with teachers to engage students through imaginative strategies, fostering emotional and academic growth in a supportive environment. Protocol Education is currently seeking a Creative Teaching Assistant to support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a nurturing and inclusive school environment. This is a rewarding opportunity to use your creativity and energy to support learners in reaching their full potential.
As a Creative Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with classroom teachers and SENCOs to provide tailored support to students with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social-emotional challenges. You’ll use imaginative, engaging strategies—like art, drama, music, or play-based learning—to help children develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
Support SEN pupils in 1:1 and small group settings
Deliver engaging, sensory-friendly activities to enhance learning
Assist with behaviour management using positive reinforcement strategies
Adapt materials and activities to suit individual needs
Provide emotional support and build trusting relationships with students
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents
A creative background (e.g., arts, drama, music, playwork) is highly desirable
Experience supporting children with SEN (in school or other settings)
A caring, patient, and proactive approach
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
The ability to adapt and respond to a dynamic classroom environment
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply through Protocol Education)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
