The Best Connection is seeking an experienced Jig Borer to join our clients skilled machining team. This key role produces high-precision components to tight tolerances, supports retooling and re-engineering projects, and contributes to improvement initiatives.

You will set, operate and maintain jig boring machines, read detailed drawings, measure with micrometers, bore gauges and DTI, and collaborate with machinists and engineers to meet customer specifications.

Formación

• Proven experience operating jig borers (manual and/or CNC)
• Strong understanding of precision machining and tolerances
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Competent with measuring equipment (micrometers, bore gauges, DTI)
• A methodical approach with strong attention to detail
• Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent experience preferred

Responsabilidades

• Set, operate, and maintain jig boring machines to produce precision components

• Manufacture tooling, fixtures, jigs, and precision parts to tight tolerances

The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Jig Borer to join our clients skilled machining team. This is a key role within the business, responsible for producing high-precision components to tight tolerances, supporting both new and legacy tooling, and contributing to re-engineering and improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Set, operate, and maintain jig boring machines to produce precision components
• Work from detailed engineering drawings and specifications
• Manufacture tooling, fixtures, jigs, and precision parts to tight tolerances
• Support retooling and re-engineering projects
• Carry out self-inspection using precision measuring equipment
• Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and housekeeping
• Collaborate with other machinists and engineers to meet customer requirements
