Responsibilities

• The Jetty Assistant Manager is responsible for planning and the safe operation of the Jetty, including operators, ships and trucks.
• Ensure the safety of the Jetty Operators
• Select and issue work to the Jetty Operators
• Plan and schedule ships, trucks and labour
• Liaise efficiently and safely with other site personnel
• Control all activities using personnel efficiently
• Follow the procedures in the management system to ensure compliance with all standards
• Provide daily supervision to the jetty operators and to maintenance technicians
• Maintain an efficient operation
• Provide hands-on assistance in the discharge of both bulk dry and liquid cargos when needed
• Assist the jetty manager in his Port Facility Security Officer role
• Train to become a Deputy Port Facility Security Officer
