Job summary

Jersey Electricity plc is seeking a Heating Engineer for JEBS in Jersey. You will install and commission domestic heat pumps and heating systems, perform maintenance, diagnose faults, and provide expert customer guidance on energy-efficient solutions.

The role emphasises safety, regulatory compliance, and ongoing professional development in renewable energy technology within the JEBS division.

Qualifications

• Technical expertise in installing, servicing and maintaining heating systems.
• NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing and Heating or equivalent certification.
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills across heating technologies.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission domestic heat pumps and heating systems.
• Conduct routine maintenance and servicing for long-term efficiency.

Description

Are you looking for your next role? We are looking to strengthen our team in our Jersey Electricity Building Services (JEBS). Being part of our team, you will uphold regulatory compliance, and high safety standards whilst upholding the company's purpose and values.

The post holder will be expected to have a good understanding of heating systems, ability to replace oil/gas boilers with electric boilers, replacing and installing pressurised cylinders, willing to undertake training to install Air source heat pumps.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and commission domestic heat pumps and heating systems, ensuring optimal performance.
• Conduct routine maintenance and servicing to ensure long-term efficiency and reliability.
• Diagnose and repair faults in heating systems and heat pumps.
• Provide expert advice and support to customers, enhancing their understanding of energy-efficient heating solutions.
• Stay updated with the latest developments in heating technology and sustainability practices.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• Technical Expertise: Proven experience in installing, servicing, and maintaining heating systems.
• Qualifications: Relevant certifications and qualifications in heating engineering (e.g. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing and Heating,
• Problem-Solving Skills: Strong diagnostic and repair skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
• Customer Focus: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
