Job summary

Sanderson Recruitment is seeking a talented Java Engineer to join our client’s team in the West of England. You will develop robust Java applications, participate in a Scrum team, and contribute to high-quality software delivery on complex projects.

The role focuses on writing unit and integration tests, applying TDD, and building scalable services with Spring Boot, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines. You’ll collaborate with other tech teams to accelerate delivery and improve performance and

Qualifications

Strong hands-on experience with Java and associated technologies.
Experience with Spring Boot.
Experience with unit testing, test automation, and TDD.
Experience with DevOps tooling and CI/CD.
Experience with debugging, profiling, and performance tuning.
Experience with Agile software delivery.
Experience with Docker or other container technologies would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

Join our team delivering high-quality software on critical projects.
Work as part of an Agile/Scrum team throughout the software development lifecycle.
Develop and deliver high-quality Java applications.
Write unit, integration, and feature tests.
Work with other technical teams to understand requirements and resolve issues.
Create and maintain low-level technical designs and documentation.
Support CI/CD and software delivery activities.
Debug, tune performance, and improve application reliability.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and sprint activities.
Contribute to digital transformation and wider engineering projects.
