Job summary

Sanderson Recruitment is seeking a software engineer to design, develop and maintain scalable software solutions. You will collaborate with engineers, architects and product teams to deliver high-quality products and participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives.

The role focuses on secure, scalable applications across cloud technologies, with opportunities to influence tooling, processes and software quality through the full development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Degree in a STEM subject or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience with Python, Java, Rust, and JavaScript.
• Experience with cloud and infrastructure tech: AWS, Azure or GCP, Docker/Podman, Kubernetes.
• Experience with software engineering practices: microservices, REST/gRPC, DevSecOps, Git, CI/CD, IaC, Linux, shell scripting.
• Eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain software solutions.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects and product teams to deliver high-quality products.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Reviews, Retrospectives).
• Contribute to code reviews and engineering best practice.
• Support deployments and resolve issues in live environments.
• Continuously improve processes, tooling and software quality.
• Involve across the software development lifecycle from design to deployment and support.
• Help deliver secure, scalable applications using modern engineering practices.
• Broaden experience across cloud, automation, sensors and emerging tech.
