Job summary

DWP Digital in the United Kingdom is seeking a Java Software Engineer to build and support digital services used by millions of citizens. You will work in agile, multidisciplinary teams to design, develop and maintain software products that improve public services.

Join a modern tech stack including Java, AWS, Kubernetes, Python and CI/CD pipelines, while contributing to secure, scalable solutions and sharing best practices within an active engineering community.

Qualifications

Experience developing APIs, RESTful services and microservices.
Experience deploying applications in cloud environments such as AWS or Azure.
Strong understanding of TDD and BDD.
Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
Experience building robust automated test suites with CI/CD.
Proven experience delivering large-scale Java 21+ systems.

Collaborate with architects, engineers and product teams to design scalable apps.
Develop secure, resilient software using modern technologies including Java, AWS, Kubernetes, Python and CI/CD.
