DWP. Digital with Purpose. is seeking a Java Software Engineer to build secure, scalable digital services used by millions of people across the UK.

You will work in agile, multidisciplinary teams to design, develop and maintain software products using Java, AWS, Kubernetes, Python and CI/CD pipelines. Join a thriving engineering community, share best practices and help deliver high-quality software that meets user needs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of APIs, RESTful services and microservice architectures.
• Experience deploying apps in cloud environments such as AWS or Azure.
• Strong understanding of TDD and BDD practices.
• Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
• Experience building robust automated test suites for CI/CD.
• Proven experience with large-scale Java 21+ systems.

• Collaborate with architects, engineers and product teams to deliver secure and scalable apps.
