Job summary

DWP Digital is hiring a Java Software Engineer to build secure, scalable digital services used by millions across the UK. You’ll work in multidisciplinary agile teams, designing and delivering software with modern technologies such as Java, AWS, Kubernetes, Python and CI/CD pipelines.

You’ll contribute to robust test suites with a focus on TDD/BDD, collaborate with architects and product teams, and help maintain and evolve large-scale systems while enjoying a hybrid working model (40% home, 60%

Qualifications

Knowledge and experience of APIs, RESTful services and microservice architectures.
Experience with cloud environments such as AWS or Azure.
Strong understanding of TDD and BDD.
Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
Experience building robust automated test suites for CI/CD.
Proven experience with Java 21+ and open-source technologies.
