Job summary

Playtech IMS Engagement Unit seeks a self-motivated JavaFullstackDeveloper for a temporary Military Service Cover role in the UK. You will work on a complex Java codebase, maintain legacy features, develop new capabilities, and write tests. Collaboration, code quality, and performance focus are essential.

Office in the city centre, normal work hours. Key technologies include Java, React with TypeScript, Hibernate, Docker, Kafka, and tools like Maven, Git flow, Redux, and MaterialUI.

Qualifications

• Approximately 3 years of experience as a Fullstack Developer or several years of Java development.

Responsibilities

• Work with a complex codebase that includes multiple Java versions and various architectural patterns.
• Maintain and update legacy while preserving functionality.
• Develop new features based on business requirements.
• Write comprehensive tests for new and old functionality.
• Debug and fix reported issues across the system.
• Perform root cause analysis for critical bugs.
• Monitor and optimize system performance.

• Have a strong background in Java development and front-end development using React with TypeScript.
• Possess strong expertise in application performance optimization and database query optimization.
• Are proficient in modern software design patterns and best practices to create scalable, maintainable, and high-performing applications.
• Have experience with performance monitoring tools and profiling techniques.
• Have experience in maintaining and modernizing legacy systems.
• Are knowledgeable in Hibernate, JDBC, MariaDB, Kafka, Docker, Maven.
• Understand GIT flow (pull requests, branches, etc.).
• Are skilled with front-end tools and technologies: TypeScript, React, Redux, ES2020, HTML5, SCSS.
• Have experience with MaterialUI, Webpack, Jest.
• Excel in collaboration and teamwork, are self-motivated, and pay attention to detail.
