Job summary

GIOS Technology Limited seeks a Java Engineer to join our Telford, UK team, with 2-3 days onsite per week. You will design and implement robust data integration solutions, build and operate data pipelines, and work closely with product teams to meet non-functional requirements around cost, performance and security.

The role involves strong data, API and batch experience in a DevOps environment, with opportunities to mentor colleagues and participate in agile ceremonies.

Responsibilities

• Support incident resolution and ensure service continuity during business hours.
• Share knowledge, mentor colleagues, and contribute to engineering communities of practice.
• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and work cross-functionally with engineers, analysts and business teams.

Description:

• We are seeking experienced engineers who have experience of Data, API and Batch support and working within a Devops environment to join an existing team which is expanding.
• Design and implement robust, secure and performant data integration solutions (batch and/or near-Real Time).
• Build, operate and improve data pipelines (ingestion, transformation, curation) with monitoring, alerting and SLAs.
• Collaborate with product teams and client stakeholders to refine requirements and align decisions to NFRs (cost, performance, security).
• Support incident resolution and ensure service continuity within business hours.
• Share knowledge, mentor colleagues, and contribute to Our Client's engineering communities of practice.
• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and work cross-functionally with engineers, analysts and business teams.

Required Skills

• We are looking for candidates with a strong knowledge of engineering with the ability to operate at all stages of the delivery life cycle, with an interest in learning and cross-skilling.

• Knowledge of cloud platforms (ideally AWS).
• Strong grasp of data engineering fundamentals, including integration, transformation, orchestration, and version control.
• Excellent client-facing and consultancy skills.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
• Drive to share knowledge, mentoring and developing others.
