Job summary

GCS is seeking a highly skilled Java Developer to join our team. You will re-platform an existing application from a vendor platform (PCF) to an internal BYOC platform, improving functionality and performance.

Collaborate with testers, product owners, and other developers to deliver scalable, secure software. The role emphasizes modern Java development (11+), microservices, RESTful APIs, Angular front‑end work, and Agile/CI‑CD practices.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in modern Java development (Java 11+).
• Hands-on experience designing and building microservices architectures.
• Familiarity with graph databases, Neo4j, is desirable.
• Experience modernizing legacy Java applications for performance and maintainability.
• RESTful API design for cross-platform integration.
• Front-end basics: HTML5, JavaScript, Angular.
• Strong troubleshooting in complex environments.
• BDD/TDD with JUnit/Mockito/Cucumber.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with developers, testers, and stakeholders to build, test, and deploy software.
• Design, develop, and implement back-end features focused on microservices and APIs.
• Participate in re-platforming from vendor platforms to internal BYOC platforms.
• Modernize legacy Java applications, upgrade dependencies, and resolve issues.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices for various functionalities.
• Contribute to front-end components using HTML5/JavaScript/Angular.
• Work in an agile CI/CD environment with iterative delivery.
• Engage in peer reviews and automated testing to uphold code quality.
• Troubleshoot dependencies and vulnerabilities to ensure stability and security.
• Collaborate to gather requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
