Job summary

Whitehall Resources Limited is seeking a back-end focused engineer to help re-platform an application from a vendor platform to an internal BYOC platform and modernise the system.

You will design and build microservices, APIs and backend features in an agile CI/CD environment, collaborating with developers, testers and customers to resolve issues and drive feature delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and building microservices.
• Experience with Graph databases (Neo4j desirable).
• Experience with REST APIs.
• Experience in BDD and/or TDD approaches and frameworks (unit/integration test automation).
• Experience with Agile including the use of Jira/Confluence.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with developers, testers and the wider organisation to build and run products.
• Design, develop & implement back-end features as per backlog/priority with a small element of frontend development.
• Collaborate with the rest of the engineering team to design and launch new features.
• Proactively work with customers to resolve their issues and respond to feature requests.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Developer Experience (DevX) Standards and Controls function is building a platform for control owners and development teams to manage/view their compliance with a range of software development controls.

The candidate would be working on re-platforming an application from a vendor platform (PCF) over to an internal bring your own code (BYOC) platform as well as modernising the application and resolving dependency issues.

• RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborate with developers, testers and the wider organisation to build and run products
• Design, develop & implement back-end features as per backlog/priority with a small element of frontend development.
• Collaborate with the rest of the engineering team to design and launch new features.
• Proactively work with customers to resolve their issues and respond to feature requests.

• Experience with Graph databases (experience with Neo4j is desirable).

• Strong technical and analytical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience in BDD and/or TDD approaches and frameworks (unit/integration test automation)
• Experience resolving issues with dependencies (e.g. conflicts), performing upgrades and remediating dependencies with vulnerabilities.
• Experience in working with Agile including the use of Jira/Confluence.
• Be a proactive person who will not wait to be told what to do next or be unblocked by others
