Job summary

HCLTech is seeking a software engineer in the UK with strong Java and Python skills. You will troubleshoot distributed systems, develop REST APIs, and work with Docker/Podman, Kubernetes, and VM-based infrastructure.

Experience with networking/security fundamentals and PostgreSQL or similar relational databases is required. Terraform, Ansible, and GitOps experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong Java and Python programming skills.
• Experience of troubleshooting/debugging in distributed systems.
• Experience in REST APIs, Docker/Podman, Kubernetes, and VM.
• Experience in Networking/security fundamentals.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Develop and debug distributed systems in production environments.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and containerized services.
• Work with Kubernetes, Docker/Podman, Terraform, and Ansible for platform automation.
• Ensure network and security fundamentals are correctly applied.
• Collaborate on database design and optimization with PostgreSQL.
