Job summary

HCLTech is seeking a DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and operate cloud-native platforms on Google Cloud Platform. You will drive migrations of on-premise apps and pipelines to the cloud, while minimising risk and disruption to business operations.

Responsibilities include building scalable CI/CD pipelines, applying IaC with Terraform, and enhancing observability with Grafana/Prometheus. You will collaborate with architects, security, and operations to ensure governance and robust cloud

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing, implementing, and operating cloud-native platforms on GCP.
• Migrating on-premise apps and pipelines to the cloud with minimal disruption.
• Deep knowledge of GCP services (GKE, Compute Engine, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL, IAM, networking, observability).
• Expertise in IaC using Terraform for automated provisioning.
• Building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines across environments.
• Assess operational processes and develop migration strategies to improve reliability and scalability.
• Strong architecture fundamentals: resilience, HA, DR, cost optimization, observability.
• Collaborate with engineers to modernise apps, containerise workloads, and deploy with Kubernetes.
• Define monitoring, alerting, logging, and observability using Grafana/Prometheus/Cloud Monitoring.
• Work with architects, security and operations to align cloud adoption with governance.

• DevOps Engineer with strong experience designing, implementing, and operating cloud-native platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), supporting enterprise-scale applications and technology transformation initiatives
• Proven track record migrating on-premise applications, infrastructure, operational processes, and deployment pipelines to the cloud while minimising risk and disruption to business operations
• Deep understanding of GCP services including GKE, Compute Engine, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL, IAM, networking, monitoring, and security services
• Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, enabling automated, scalable, and repeatable cloud infrastructure provisioning and management
• Experienced in building and optimising CI/CD pipelines using modern DevOps tooling, automating build, test, deployment, release, and rollback processes across multiple environments
• Able to assess existing operational processes, identify opportunities for automation and cloud adoption, and develop pragmatic migration strategies that improve reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture principles including resilience, high availability, disaster recovery, scalability, security, cost optimisation, and observability
• Comfortable working with engineering teams to modernise applications, containerise workloads, implement Kubernetes-based deployments, and adopt cloud-native operational practices
• Experienced in defining and implementing monitoring, alerting, logging, and operational support capabilities using tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Cloud Monitoring, and related observability platforms
• Able to collaborate closely with architects, engineers, security teams, operations teams, and business stakeholders to ensure cloud adoption aligns with enterprise standards, governance requirements, and strategic objectives
