Job summary

HCLTech in City of London seeks a skilled Java developer to migrate and modernize D2C platform services, focusing on reliability and live trading operations.

You will work with infrastructure teams to provision, configure, and migrate hosts, implement containerized deployments, and strengthen monitoring and security for scalable API services.

Qualifications

• Must have core Java skills including OOP, collections, exception handling and concurrency.
• Experience building and deploying event-driven and RESTful APIs.
• Foundational SQL and relational DB design knowledge.
• Hands-on with Linux-based server environments.
• Bash or Python scripting experience.
• Experience with provisioning and configuration tools like Ansible.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (TeamCity or equivalent).
• Experience with Maven or Gradle build tooling.
• Practical Docker and Kubernetes experience for deploying Java services.
• Experience with monitoring/alerting tools like Grafana/Prometheus/Geneos or equivalents.
• Must-have experience with DevOps, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, Java or Python, and automation.

Responsibilities

• Migrate D2C platform services from existing infrastructure to new hardware with minimal live disruption.
• Document the current D2C service landscape and host dependencies.
• Collaborate with the infrastructure team to size and procure replacement hosts.
• Provision and configure new hosts, ensuring runtimes, software, networking and security requirements are met.
• Plan and execute end-to-end migration of D2C services, including rollback planning and post-migration sign-off.
