Job summary

Crisil is seeking a Java Developer with a focus on capital markets and risk systems. You will work on backend services, APIs and data processing components supporting trading, risk calculations and reporting in a London-based role.

Key responsibilities include building Java-based backends, APIs and data pipelines, implementing asynchronous processing with Kafka, and collaborating with risk, treasury and business teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.

Qualifications

• 7–12 years of experience in Java development.
• Capital markets / risk / trading domain experience required.
• Strong backend focus on APIs and data processing.
• Experience with asynchronous and event-driven processing (Kafka).
• Knowledge of risk systems and reporting pipelines is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance Java-based backend applications for trading and risk use cases.
• Build and maintain APIs, services and data processing components.
• Work on trade data flows, risk calculations and reporting pipelines.
• Implement asynchronous and event-driven processing (e.g., Kafka).
• Collaborate with risk, treasury and business teams to translate requirements into solutions.
• Participate in end-to-end SDLC including development, testing, deployment and support.
• Troubleshoot production issues and optimize system performance.
