Job summary

Crisil is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Risk Services team within GlobalMarkets. The role focuses on designing scalable, distributed systems that support risk data processing, analytics and reporting workflows.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience across Java and Python backends, with a solid understanding of risk data flows and enterprise-grade platforms. You will work with risk, front-office and data teams to deliver robust technical solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong Java (Spring/Spring Boot) and Python development experience.
• Proven ability to design and build distributed microservices.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms and system design.
• Experience with large-scale data processing and real-time analytics.
• Experience with messaging frameworks such as Kafka.
• Unix/Linux proficiency and knowledge of XML and data integration patterns.
• Hands-on exposure to CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and enhance backend services and distributed systems for risk data and analytics.
• Build scalable applications using Java and Python.
• Process large datasets to support risk calculations and reporting.
• Collaborate with risk, front-office and data teams to translate requirements into robust solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, testing and release processes to ensure high-quality delivery.
• Troubleshoot production systems focusing on stability and performance.
