Bullish in London seeks a Senior Engineer for Risk Engineering to build high-performance JVM services and APIs that power real-time risk calculations, margin requirements, and stress scenarios.

You will translate complex risk models into robust, well-tested software, collaborate with quants and product teams, and continuously optimize the codebase for low latency, reliability, and maintainability in a fast-growing fintech environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of professional Java backend engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of multi-threading, concurrency and JVM tuning.
• Experience with automated testing, TDD and stress testing.
• Experience with microservices, architectural patterns, and clean code.
• Familiarity with cloud tools and DevOps workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-performance JVM services and APIs for low latency risk calculations.
• Translate risk models into robust, well-tested implementations.
• Collaborate with quants and product teams to implement risk models.
• Refactor codebase to improve automated testing, performance and maintainability.
• Champion Agile best practices and code reviews.
