IT Technician Apprentice Heathside Walton-on-Thames Walton-on-Thames, Surrey KT12 2JP Start date: January 2026 (or as soon as possible after appointment) Hours: 36 per week, full time Contract length: 24 months apprenticeship (depending on progress and completion of the Level 3 IT Solutions Technician Apprenticeship) – with a permanent position offered at the end of the two-year apprenticeship, subject to successful probation Salary: £14,133 – £22,857 per annum (depending on age and experience), in line with apprenticeship pay scales and Local Government guidelines Location: Walton-on-Thames, Surrey – within easy reach of local transport links. Overview

Heathside Walton‑on‑Thames, an Ofsted Outstanding secondary school, is seeking a motivated IT Apprentice who is eager to begin a career in IT support. This is a busy, varied, and rewarding role where you will support staff and students in their use of IT. You will gain hands‑on experience in troubleshooting user issues, resolving technical problems, and assisting with exciting projects such as software and hardware installations, as well as Audio‑Visual setups. As part of this apprenticeship, you will receive off‑the‑job training one day a week delivered by Lift Schools, working towards a Level 3 IT Solutions Technician Apprenticeship (equivalent to 2 A‑Levels). This nationally recognised qualification provides an excellent foundation for a long‑term career in IT.
