IT Systems Network Support Engineer

Our client, a bank based in Central London, is looking to recruit an IT Systems Support Engineer with at least 2 years of experience in IT within the financial industry and a total of 5 years in IT.

You will be part of a small team managing the bank's technology infrastructure to ensure efficient operations.

1. Maintain the IT infrastructure by providing first-line support for software, hardware, and networking, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
2. Manage daily operational aspects of projects and scope.
3. Design, plan, and deploy IT projects to enhance existing infrastructure and applications.
4. Provide end-user computing support for staff.
5. Coordinate with London users and Group IT Security on system access requests, ensuring compliance with protocols.
6. Implement disaster recovery and backup procedures to preserve assets and meet group standards.
7. Support daily and periodic reporting for compliance, including anti-money laundering provisions.
8. Extract data for reporting to stakeholders.
9. Monitor CCTV, telephony, and door access systems, ensuring maintenance and backups.
10. Monitor network equipment such as switches, firewalls, and other devices.
11. Perform maintenance checks to ensure smooth IT operations.
12. Maintain the BCP site for continuous operations.
13. Manage the branch PABX and recording systems to ensure uptime.

Technical Skills Required

• Proficiency in Windows 10, Windows Server 2016+, Redhat Linux.
• Experience with VMWare v6.7+, Veeam Backup, Symantec Endpoint Protection/Encryption, ManageEngine Patch Manager, Microsoft Office 365.
• Networking skills with Cisco switches, routers, Fortigate firewalls, LAN/WAN routing.
• Hardware experience with Dell PowerEdge servers and PowerVault SAN storage.
• Project management and data analysis skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree, or professional qualification in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields.

Salary

£35,000 - £40,000.
