IT System Administrator - Birmingham

Salary - £37,000 - £40,000

5 days per week onsite

IT System Administrator required for a leading customer based in Birmingham. My customer is currently seeking an IT System Administrator to oversee and enhance the functionality of their software, hardware, and networks.

Possessing resourcefulness is crucial, as you'll need to swiftly identify and address issues. Effective communication with diverse interdisciplinary teams and users is essential, requiring patience. Your objective is to guarantee the seamless and efficient operation of the technology infrastructure. Additionally, you will play a role in a Cloud transformation project, making familiarity with Cloud vendors and related tools advantageous.

Key Skills and Responsibilities

1. Demonstrated expertise in roles such as System Administrator, Network Administrator, or comparable positions
2. Previous 1st and 2nd line support experience
3. Cloud administration (Azure)
4. Proficiency in databases, networks (LAN, WAN), and patch management
5. Understanding of system security, including intrusion detection systems, and proficiency in data backup and recovery
6. Deploy and set up software and hardware configurations
7. Oversee network servers and technology tools management
8. Handle cloud landing zones, user administration, and cloud compute services
9. Establish accounts and configure workstations
10. Monitor system performance and perform maintenance as needed
11. Ensure security through access controls, backups, and firewalls
12. Conduct system upgrades with new releases and models
13. Train staff on emerging technologies and maintain technical documentation
14. Familiarity with operating systems and platforms (Linux, OSX, Windows)
15. Resourcefulness and problem-solving skills
16. Outstanding communication skills

Salary

The salary/package for this position is £37,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience, with excellent benefits and flexible working opportunities.
