Job summary

4square Recruitment Ltd in Grantham is seeking an IT Support Technician to provide hands-on support to users across a local business. You will work closely with the IT Manager as the first point of contact for everyday IT issues.

The role focuses on 1st/2nd line support, setting up equipment, managing accounts, and maintaining Microsoft 365 and AD, with opportunities to grow technical skills.

This is a permanent, full-time on-site position offering a 30-40k salary and standard office hours.

Qualifications

• At least 2-3 years' experience in an IT support, helpdesk or service desk role.
• Good working knowledge of Windows desktops and Microsoft 365.
• Understanding of user accounts, permissions and basic networking (IP addresses, Wi-Fi, DNS).
• Clear communication skills and a friendly, customer-focused manner.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to work onsite in Grantham five days per week.
• Desirable: Active Directory / Entra ID, Intune, IT Glue, data cabling or CCTV; CompTIA A+ or Microsoft 365 Fundamentals would be welcome.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1st and 2nd line support in person, over the phone and by email, logging and resolving tickets within agreed service levels.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, printer, login and basic network issues.
• Set up and maintain laptops, desktops, phones and peripherals, including software installations and updates.
• Manage user accounts, passwords, permissions and MFA across Microsoft 365 and Active Directory, supporting starters and leavers.
• Support Outlook, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive, carry out basic Microsoft 365 administration, and maintain asset records and support documentation.

Location: Grantham, Lincolnshire - fully onsite

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm

Contract: Permanent, full-time

We're recruiting for an IT Support Technician to provide hands-on support to users across a business based in Grantham.

This would suit someone with solid helpdesk experience who enjoys a varied role and wants to continue developing their technical skills.

What we're looking for

Experience with Active Directory / Entra ID, Intune, Autotask PSA, IT Glue, data cabling or CCTV would be useful, but is not essential. Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Microsoft 365 Fundamentals would also be welcomed.
