Job summary

A leading IT Managed Services provider is seeking a dynamic 2nd Line IT Support Engineer to join their Helpdesk team. This role calls for an individual with strong customer service skills and technical expertise, particularly in Windows Server and Office 365, to ensure responsive support for clients' IT issues.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a technical Service Desk role.
  • Practical experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and VMware.
  • Certifications in ITIL, Microsoft, VMware, or Citrix are advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Main point of contact on the IT helpdesk, meeting SLA response and resolution targets.
  • Troubleshoot and support multiple users via telephone and remote access.
  • Work under pressure and prioritize tight deadlines.

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented 2nd Line IT Support Engineer (Windows Server / Office 365 / VMware) to join our client. The company is a fast-paced, growing IT Managed Services provider based in Northampton, and you will become a key member of their busy Helpdesk team. As a 2nd Line Support Engineer, you will be the main point of contact on the IT helpdesk, working to meet SLA response and resolution targets for clients' IT issues.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years recent experience in a technical Service Desk role supporting multiple users via telephone and remote access. Excellent interpersonal skills, confidence, organization, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service are essential.

You should have practical experience and a solid understanding of troubleshooting, supporting, and administering Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and ideally Citrix XenApp and Terminal Services, Microsoft Exchange Server. Experience with Windows XP/7/8, Microsoft Office, and VMware is highly beneficial.

The ability to work under pressure, multitask, prioritize, take ownership of issues, and work within tight timescales is crucial.

Experience with remote management and monitoring software, troubleshooting & support of Symantec Backup Exec, Veeam, and certifications in ITIL, Microsoft, VMware, Citrix are advantageous.
