Join to apply for the IT Supplier Manager role at Oxford Nanopore Technologies.

Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure Operations, the successful candidate will work with multiple IT teams and key business areas. We are seeking an experienced and detail-driven IT Supplier Manager to oversee IT vendor management, procurement activities, and IT asset lifecycle management. This role ensures strong supplier performance, optimizes purchasing processes, and maintains accurate IT asset control to support operational efficiency and strategic goals.

Responsibilities Include

• Manage the full lifecycle of IT supplier relationships, including sourcing, selection, onboarding, contract negotiation, performance management, and renewals or terminations.
• Oversee procurement of IT goods and services, ensuring alignment with budget, compliance, and business requirements.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, IT, Architecture, and Procurement teams to support purchasing decisions and streamline procurement processes.
• Maintain accurate records of contracts, purchase orders, invoices, licensing agreements, and warranties.
• Lead IT asset management efforts, including tracking hardware/software inventory, ensuring licensing compliance, and managing asset lifecycle from acquisition to retirement.
• Monitor supplier performance against SLAs, KPIs, and contractual terms; drive service improvements and issue resolution.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and vendor consolidation strategies to improve efficiency and reduce spend.
• Support risk management by ensuring supplier compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory standards.
• Facilitate regular supplier reviews and foster strong working relationships for accountability and continuous improvement.
• Stay informed about industry trends, pricing models, and vendor capabilities to enhance procurement strategies.
• Manage budgets and procurement for projects.
• Ensure adherence to ITSM best practices and alignment with ISO20000 and ISO 27001 standards.

What We're Looking For...

• Significant experience in IT supplier/vendor management, procurement, or asset management.
• Strong understanding of IT purchasing processes, licensing models, and vendor negotiations.
• Experience with IT asset management systems and procurement platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, D365).
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Solid knowledge of compliance, cybersecurity, and risk management in supplier relations.
• Experience in complex IT environments with SaaS, cloud, networking, hardware, and software.
• Comfortable working in dynamic environments with shifting priorities.
• Pragmatic approach to processes, relationships, planning, and technology.
• Proficiency with tools like Office365, SharePoint, Monday.com, Confluence, Slack, Zoom, Teams, Excel.
• Practical experience with ITSM best practices and ITIL.
