Job summary

Sanderson is seeking a Storage & Backup Engineer to join the team for a 6-month engagement. The role involves BAU backup operations, storage management, and automation initiatives across an enterprise environment.

Mostly remote with 1–2 days on-site in the UK, you will support ongoing Digital Solutions projects and handle tickets via ServiceNow and ADO. Candidates should have solid experience in backup domains and operational support, with hands-on knowledge of Avamar, NetBackup, and Storage

Qualifications

• Experience in operations support in the backup domain is essential.
• Technical and functional background with BAU experience.
• Familiarity with Avamar, NetBackup and Storage Protect/Plus preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work as an operational team member in the backup team.
• BAU operations including daily checks and manual backup refreshes.
• BAU storage management tasks (Robocopy, etc.).
• Maintaining directory structures and DFS of enterprise storage.
• Support storage and backup aspects of Digital Solutions projects.
• Process Service Now and ADO tickets.
• Support delivery activities as needed.
• Respond to service failures and drive improvements through automation.

Sanderson is working in partnership with a leading global provider of ICT Services for the large enterprise and public sector markets.

Responsibilities

• Work as an operational team member in the backup team
• BAU operations (daily checks and manual backup refreshes)
• BAU storage management tasks (Robocopy etc)
• Maintaining directory structures and DFS of enterprise storage
• Supporting Storage and backup related aspects of any Digital Solutions projects ongoing
• Process Service Now tickets and ADO tickets
• Supporting delivery activities as needed
• Responding to service failures
• Improving the service and introducing automation where possible

Qualifications

• Experience in operations support functional and backup domain
• Technical & Functional skills and background experience
• Operational experience with the following would be preferred
• Avamar
• NetBackup
• Storage Protect/ Plus

Preferred Skills

• Experience in Leonardo IT operational processes
• Experience in Leonardo IT operational backup systems
• SC Cleared Storage & Backup Engineer to work Mostly Remote (1 to 2 days a week onsite) - 6 months engagement
