Job summary

MPJ Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced IT Service Manager in Manchester. The role leads day-to-day IT service delivery, collaborates with a small internal IT team and external partners, and drives ITSM improvements to ensure a secure, reliable technology environment aligned with business needs.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical knowledge with people management and a proactive, hands-on leadership style. Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm, with a salary in the £45k–£47k DOE range.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years' experience in IT support, infrastructure or service operations, including at least two years in a supervisory or management role.
• Experience leading IT support teams and improving service delivery.
• ITIL Foundation or equivalent certification desirable.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID and Intune.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day IT service delivery across the business and manage ITSM practices.
• Lead internal IT support team and coordinate with external technology partners.
• Identify and implement improvements to IT services, processes and tooling.
• Oversee IT infrastructure, cloud services, networks and end-user devices.
• Manage cybersecurity controls, patching and compliance.
• Manage external IT providers ensuring value for money.
• Ensure business continuity with DR planning and testing.
• Engage stakeholders and communicate IT service performance.
