Job summary

Thomas Search is working with a government assets-focused organisation to recruit a security lead based in Tidworth, Wiltshire. The role focuses on owning the IT security strategy, driving training, and ensuring compliance across the organisation and supply chain.

You will collaborate with cyber and quality teams, manage security incidents and disaster recovery, and report progress to senior stakeholders. Hybrid working: 37.5 hours with some remote days.

Job description

Our client is an award-winning support services organisation providing key Infrastructure, Construction & Facilities Management support across a large and diverse portfolio of commercial and industrial government assets.

As one of the largest PFI contracts within the UK you will have the opportunity to support the UK Armed Forces over a long-term contract period.

Located from Tidworth, Wiltshire, you will be part of the central business services function leading organisation wide information technology services.

• Lead organisation-wide information technology security awareness and training, linking user education to the wider security strategy and measuring impact.
• Own and drive the information technology security strategy, roadmap, initiatives and compliance activities, reporting progress and outcomes clearly.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, cyber teams and the quality team to support delivery, business change, audit readiness and compliance.
• Managing security incidents, breaches, disaster recovery and business continuity activities to minimise risk and service disruption.
• Ensure security controls are extended across the supply chain and that all technical solutions meet organisational security standards.
• Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies and cyber risks, proactively strengthening cyber defence capabilities.

Quantification & experience:

• Strong technical experience or a computing degree, together with the ability to operate effectively within a complex information technology environment.
• Extensive experience in audit and remediation management, information technology service delivery, management reporting, project management, customer service and office administration.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, strong planning, problem-solving and organisational abilities, and the capability to prioritise work in line with business strategy.
