Job summary

Hiring People seeks an ITAD Refurbishment Technician to refurbish and test IT equipment for resale or redeployment. You will ensure safe, secure processing per ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO/IEC 27001, and maintain accurate refurbishment records.

Responsibilities include inspecting equipment, diagnosing hardware faults, repairing components, updating BIOS/firmware, and completing data sanitisation. Ideal candidates have experience with PCs/laptops and a solid hardware understanding.

Qualifications

• Experience repairing PCs and laptops.
• Good understanding of computer hardware.
• Ability to diagnose hardware faults.
• Knowledge of Windows installation and configuration.

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect incoming IT equipment.
• Identify equipment specifications and record asset information accurately.
• Perform diagnostic testing on laptops, desktops, monitors and other IT equipment.
• Repair or replace faulty components (RAM, SSD/HDD, keyboards, batteries, screens, cooling systems, power supplies).
• Install and configure operating systems where required.
• Carry out BIOS and firmware updates.
• Ensure data sanitisation prior to refurbishment.
• Perform cosmetic refurbishment and grading.
• Complete functional quality control testing before release.
• Package equipment to company standards for storage or dispatch.
• Maintain refurbishment records in company systems.
• Report damaged or non-repairable equipment.
• Assist with inventory control and stock accuracy.
