Job summary

Wales & West Utilities Limited is seeking an IT Project Manager to lead and deliver critical IT security projects within a multi-year program across our cyber security portfolio. You will work in a largely outsourced environment, coordinating with IT Business Analysts and business sponsors to define, initiate, plan and deliver projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

  • ITIL experience or qualification.
  • Experience with cyber resilience projects is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Critical National Infrastructure regulations is desirable.

What we’re looking for?

We are looking for an IT Project Manager who will manage and deliver critical IT security projects within a multi-year program of technology, change projects and cyber security projects. The candidate should ideally have previous experience of delivering IT solutions in or for utilities clients.

As the AT Project Manager you should be adept at managing projects in a largely outsourced environment. You will need to work at all levels of the organisation, experienced with handling multiple requirements and stakeholders concurrently, all whilst successfully influencing key decision making to ensure the project is initiated and delivered within the required timelines. You will report directly to the IT Programme Manager for Cyber Security programmes and will work closely with IT Business Analysts and key business sponsors and stakeholders to support project definition, to initiate, plan and deliver projects, demonstrating strong governance and reporting progress tracking to plan.

As WWU continues strengthen its controls and manage the risk associated with NIS Regulations the Cyber Security Programme team, working with other stakeholders from across the business, will undertake a significant amount of change, initiative and project work. The Project Manager role will be key to driving these undertakings to completion, delivering the projects on time, to scope and within budget. This role is expected to work with all necessary stakeholders and the scope of this role covers all WWU sites, including offices, depots and all industrial sites.

We’ll trust you to:
  • Lead, manageand drive projects from the initial ideathrough to its successful delivery
  • Matrix manage those responsible for delivering change, across the organisation
  • Deliver the projects’ objectives to the sponsorand the organisation as a whole
  • Develop timelines with associated milestones and deliverables in accordance with project scope
  • Produce project reporting as appropriate

You’ll need to have:
  • Degree level education or equivalent - mandatory.
  • ITIL experience / qualification (desirable - helpful for interaction with IT Operations and Acceptance into Service).
  • Relevant practitioner level qualification required. Preferred qualifications to include PMP or PRINCE2 (Essential)
  • Experience within a Cyber Resilience setting (highly desirable).
  • Knowledge of the regulations relating to the supply of Critical National Infrastructure (highly desirable).
