Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh / Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit an IT Project Manager for an initial 12-month contract with the option to extend, at a rate of £425/day (Outside IR35). This role is predominantly hybrid, requiring 1-2 days in the office per week.
Responsibilities:
- Establish professional, robust, and effective project management mechanisms and documentation to control, manage, and successfully deliver assigned IT and digital projects. This includes supporting the team in estimating timelines and adhering to plans.
- Facilitate and support sprint planning meetings, ensuring Business Analysts, Testers, Developers, and Transformation teams understand requirements, build/test processes, and the impact on end users.
- Lead and coordinate project team members throughout the project lifecycle, engaging with project and technical staff, stakeholders, and suppliers to design, control, and deliver desired outcomes.
- Maintain detailed tracking of project plans, provide status reports, and communicate progress against baseline plans to ensure transparency and smooth project progression.
- Possess qualifications in project management with experience across all project lifecycle phases.
- Be experienced and comfortable working in both agile and waterfall environments.
- Have experience leading sprint planning sessions and guiding teams through sprints to ensure timely delivery.
- Demonstrate experience delivering complex IT business projects within digital programme portfolios.
- Be an effective communicator, capable of bringing people together to achieve shared goals.
- Engage authoritatively and effectively with IT and business colleagues, as well as external partners, to devise and plan solutions and activities.
- Have a successful track record of delivering custom-built applications, managing the full lifecycle to deliver value to stakeholders.
