Job summary

University of Exeter IT Services is hiring an IT Project Manager on a fixed-term contract from 19 October 2026 to 30 July 2027. The role offers hybrid working, with campus days and remote work, and a starting salary of £43,482 at Grade F.

You will join an expanding IT PMO, work with colleges and service leads to assure project outcomes, ROI and timeframes, and help deliver a high-profile programme that enhances education delivery for students and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering IT and digital organisational change.
• User-centered design thinking and customer focus in delivery.
• Ability to recognise links and interdependencies in a large organisation.
• Experience across both waterfall and agile delivery methods.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building, including remote contexts.
• Experience managing vendor/third-party relationships and procurement.
• Strong organisational skills balancing detail with pace.
• Experience and/or certification in project and programme controls and benefits tracking.

Responsibilities

• Provide assurance on project outcomes, ROI and timeframes.
• Work with colleges and service leads across the university.
• Support the IT PMO and help deliver a high-profile digital programme.
