Job Title: IT Project Engineer

Location: Chorley

Salary: GBP32,000 - GBP38,000

We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Project Engineer / Senior IT Support Engineer to join a growing, friendly, and dynamic Managed Service Provider that delivers support both remotely and in person to businesses across the UK.

The Role of IT Project Engineer

• Ensure that IT projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards.

Project Planning and Management

• Create detailed project plans, outlining phases, tasks, and milestones.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to define project objectives and deliverables, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Technical Expertise

• Serve as the technical lead or resource, providing guidance on software, hardware, and network solutions.
• Ensure technical aspects meet required standards and are delivered as requested.

Resource Management

• Manage resources efficiently, including personnel, budget, and equipment, to optimize project outcomes.

Design and Implementation

• Design project architecture and infrastructure.
• Implement and integrate IT systems that are robust, scalable, and secure.

Monitoring and Reporting

• Track milestones, budgets, and timelines, providing regular updates to stakeholders and management.

Risk Management

• Identify, assess, and develop plans to mitigate potential project risks.

Quality Assurance

• Establish quality benchmarks, conduct testing, and ensure compliance with standards.

Collaboration and Communication

• Facilitate effective communication among team members, stakeholders, and clients through meetings and workshops.

Post-Implementation Support

Person Specification

• Experience working for a Managed Service Provider with knowledge of cloud technologies (Azure/AWS).
• Experience with Windows OS and Windows Server 2016/2019 migrations.
• Office 365 maintenance and administration skills.
• Networking knowledge (Firewalls, Routing & Switches, TCP/IP).
• Virtualization technologies (VMware ESXi, Hyper-V), Citrix experience desirable.
• Experience with migrations such as Exchange on-prem to Office 365 or Exchange Online.
• Certifications in ITIL, PRINCE2, and Microsoft/Cloud technologies are beneficial.
