Job summary

Derbyshire Healthcare NHS is seeking an IT Project and Technical Support Officer on a fixed-term contract (9 months) at Kingsway Hospital, Derby. The role focuses on planning, coordinating and delivering small IT projects while providing practical support for devices and systems.

You will work in the Technical Services team to ensure reliable IT services for clinicians and staff, including deployment and day-to-day issue resolution.

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level in IT, technical, project management or business-related subject, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience liaising with external suppliers/service providers to support service delivery.
  • Experience working with users to understand and resolve IT issues.

  • Provide technical and project support across the Trust, assisting with planning, coordination, monitoring and delivery of small projects.

Job overview

This role provides technical and project support across the Trust,assistingwith the delivery, deployment and ongoing use of approved technology, systems,devicesand associated equipment. Working within the Technical Services team, the role helps deliver cost-effective, well-managed IT solutions for clinical and corporate services. This includes supporting users with technology implementation and use, resolving day-to-day and non-routine technical issues whereappropriate, and providing practical support for devices,systemsand equipment.

The role will liaise with internal teams, externalsuppliersand service providers to support Trust systems and agreed project delivery. It will also support asset management, including device deployment, usage reporting, audits, investigations and decommissioning in line with Trust policies and procedures.

The role requires flexibility to meet service needs, including visiting Trust sites to provide user support, undertake device audits and assist with local deployment activity. It supports high-quality IT service management, helping clinicians and staff access the tools they need to work effectively.

Main duties of the job

Provide technical and project support across the Trust,assistingwith the planning, coordination,monitoringand delivery of small projects to ensure staff are supported withappropriate resources,guidanceand technical input.

Work as part of the Technical Services team to support the delivery of cost-effective, well-managed IT solutions that meet the needs of clinical and corporate services.

Support staff with the deployment, implementation and use of approved technology, systems,devicesand associated equipment, resolving day-to-day and non-routine technical issues independently whereappropriate.

Liaise with internal teams, external systemsuppliersand service providers to support the maintenance of Trust systems and the successful delivery of agreed projects.

Support asset management activities, including device deployment, usage reporting, audits, investigations and decommissioning in line with Trust policies and procedures.

Provide technical and practical support for telecommunications, mobiledevicesand user-reported issues, including the analysis of reporting data to support effective device usage,managementand service improvement.

Contribute to the delivery of high-quality Technology and Information Service Management, helping to ensure that clinicians and other staff have reliable access to tools they need to carry out their duties effectively.
