Job summary

Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Transfer Team Healthcare Assistant (Band 2) to support patient flow across the hospital. The role covers various shifts, with duties including moving patients and assisting bed management to ensure smooth flow from ED to the AMU and IAU.

You will join a dedicated team, demonstrate strong patient communication, and maintain safety in moving and handling while upholding Trust policies.

Qualifications

  • NVQ level 2 Health Care or Care Certificate.
  • Health care experience.
  • Able to work as part of a team; able to work independently; maintain confidentiality and undertake training.

Responsibilities

  • Support bed management and patient flow across the hospital site.
  • Transfer patients between Emergency Department, Acute Medical Unit and Integrated Assessment Unit.
  • Work with bed management and flow teams to maintain smooth patient movement.

Transfer Team Health Care Assistant - Band 2
Full time 37.5 hours available- Permanent

The Urgent and Emergency Care Division is currently looking to recruit Transfer Team Healthcare Assistant's on a variety of shift patterns including 09:30-22:00 and 14:00-22:00 covering a Monday- Sunday service.

You will be responsible for the collection and delivery of patients across the Hospital site to support with the flow of patients from both the Emergency Department, the Acute Medical Unit and the Integrated Assessment Unit.

You will be part of a dedicated team working alongside the bed management and flow teams delivering this essential service to the Trust.

You will have excellent patient communication service skills, a good understanding of manual handling and safety and will lead by example in this operational role.

This opportunity to join a newly formed team, gain experience of hospital flow and to help build key relationships between patients and staff.

This is due to the position not meeting the minimum salary threshold of £25,000 per annum and/or the required skill level set by UK Visas and Immigration.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is responsible for supporting the bed management and patient flow teams with the timely transfer of patients across the hospital site to support flow.

The post holder will at all times demonstrate and behave in a manner in accordance with Trust Policies and Ward/department protocols.
